This is my mosaic great heron. He is my guage for how high the pond gets. So on Sunday I put him at the edge of the water, I move him frequently to confuse any real herons, and by Monday afternoon when the Pineapple express hit with tons of rain he was up to his neck. I think the pond rose up at least 3 feet in a very short time. I took this picture today and the water has receded some.

That is a cool picture, I thought he was real. when we go to Black Lake in Northern NY we have a heron visit us each night. The kids call him "George". :)
